Why is diesel more expensive than petrol?
Diesel is 42.0c a litre above ULP 91 right now — $21 on a 50L fill. Australian diesel is largely imported and carries a different excise and refining path from petrol, and demand is driven by freight rather than cars, so the two prices move on different cycles.
