Privacy Policy

Information we collect in the app

You can browse PointFarm as a guest without an account. If you create one, or use certain features, we collect:

• Account details — your name, email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and we never see them in plain text), plus the age range you choose when signing up
• Your farm and preferences — the loyalty programs you select (e.g. Qantas, Velocity, Flybuys, Everyday Rewards, Amex), the offers you save, your display theme and your last-used fuel type
• Location — your device's location while you use the Fuel and Map screens, used only to find nearby stations and prices. It is not saved to your account and we don't keep a location history.
• Push notifications — if you allow notifications, a device token, your platform and app version, so we can send you the weekly offers update. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or your device settings.
• Usage and diagnostics — which screens you open, which offers you tap, and app performance data, collected through Google Firebase. This includes an app instance identifier and general device information.

We never ask for your loyalty program logins, and we can't see your points balances, statements or spending.

Information we collect on our website

pointfarm.au uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising:

• Google Analytics — pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location (city level), device and browser details, and clicks on offers and calculators
• Meta Pixel — records page views and taps on our App Store button, so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people likely to be interested in PointFarm
• Netlify — our web host, which logs standard request data (such as IP address and browser) and collects anonymous page-performance measurements

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and personalise PointFarm, including ranking fuel stations and offers around the programs in your farm
• Run your account, including signing in and resetting your password
• Send you push notifications you've allowed, and service emails if we need to tell you about a significant change
• Understand how people use the app and website so we can improve them
• Measure and improve our advertising, including through the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics described above

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share your account details, saved offers or farm with advertisers.

Fuel price data

Fuel prices in PointFarm come from official Australian government sources: Fair Fuel Open Data (VIC), FuelCheck (NSW), FuelWatch (WA), SAFPIS (SA), Fuel Prices Queensland and FuelCheck TAS. This data is publicly available and contains no personal information.

Affiliate links and offers

Some offers in PointFarm and on our website are affiliate links. If you tap one and make a purchase, the affiliate network (such as Commission Factory or Impact) may set its own cookie or tracking parameter so the merchant can credit us with a commission. This does not affect the price you pay, and affiliate offers are not ranked above other offers. See our affiliate disclosure.

Who we share information with

We use these service providers, which process information on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — account sign-in and database storage (hosted in Sydney, Australia)
• Google Firebase — app analytics, performance monitoring and push notifications
• Google Analytics — website analytics
• Meta — the Meta Pixel on our website, for advertising measurement
• Mapbox — map display in the app
• Netlify — website hosting
• Apple — app distribution through the App Store

Google, Meta, Mapbox and Netlify may store and process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Data storage and security

Your account data is stored with Supabase using encrypted connections and row-level security. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we delete it when it's no longer needed.

Your rights

You can:

• Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate
• Delete your account and its data at any time from the Profile screen in the app, or by emailing us
• Turn off location access and notifications at any time in your device settings

To exercise any of these rights or make a complaint, contact us at the email address below. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children's privacy

PointFarm is intended for people aged 16 and over, as set out in our terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
